PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To alleviate delay in image brightness adjustment to delay in exposure time adjustment.
SOLUTION: The endoscope processor 20 includes a processor image processing circuit 22, a multiplier 23, and a system controller 24. The processor image processing circuit 22 receives an image signal produced by imaging from an endoscope image processing circuit 33. The processor image processing circuit 22 calculates brightness based on the image signal. The system controller 24 determines exposure time based on the brightness and ideal brightness. The system controller 24 receives delay time till actual imaging with the determined exposure time from an endoscope memory 32. The system controller 24 calculates a correction gain based on the determined exposure time and the delay time. The multiplier 23 multiplies the image signal by the correction gain.
