PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eye movement measuring instrument capable of measuring the ocular motion by capturing the image of the blood vessel pattern of the tunica conjunctiva and/or sclera of an eyeball.
SOLUTION: This eye movement measuring instrument for measuring the motion of an eyeball consists of a capturing device 3, an adjustment mechanism 4, an image processing section 5, a measurement section 6 and a monitor 7. The capturing device captures a capturing area of at least 200 &mum-500 &mum square at a resolution of 1 &mum-10 &mum, and a shutter speed of 0.01 sec or faster and/or 100 frame/sec or more so as to capture the fixation nystagmus of the eyeball. The image processing section processes an image captured by the capturing means so as to recognize or trace the blood vessel pattern of the tunica conjunctiva and/or sclera of the eyeball. The motion of the eyeball is measured using the image processed by the measurement section. The measured result is displayed on the monitor.
