Provided is an absorbent article which fits closer to the body in the central area facing the excretory opening of the wearer and with which greater peace of mind can be obtained. In the absorbent article (1) according to an embodiment an absorbent body (30) has a high central section (33) and compressed parts (81) extending in the front-back direction (L) on both sides of the high central section. The absorbent body comprises an absorbent core (31) made of an absorbent material for absorbing liquid and a core wrap (32) for wrapping the absorbent core. The core wrap comprises a first wrapping sheet (32a) provided on the skin surface-side of the absorbent core and a second wrapping sheet (32b) provided on the non-skin surface-side of the absorbent core. The edges (32e) of the first wrapping sheet in the width direction are folded back towards the non-skin surface-side of the absorbent core at the edges of the absorbent core in the width direction and overlap the second wrapping sheet on the non-skin surface-side of the absorbent core. The edges of the first wrapping sheet extend to the positions of the compressed parts on the non-skin surface-side of the absorbent core and are located to the outside of the center line (CL) in the width direction.
