PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the deterioration of quality of a photoacoustic image attributable to a positional deviation of a probe in a photoacoustic imaging apparatus for mechanically scanning with the probe.SOLUTION: A subject information acquisition device includes: light irradiation means a probe for receiving a photoacoustic wave generated from a subject irradiated with light processing means for acquiring photoacoustic image information indicating characteristic information in the subject based on the photoacoustic wave scanning means for scanning with the probe and a calibration tool having a plurality of linear members.
