PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique allowing notably long-term storage of chlorous acid water.SOLUTION: A disinfectant including an aqueous solution (chlorous acid water) containing chlorous acid which generates chlorous acid being safe to the human body and easy-to-handle for pretreatment disinfection in food processing, produces less chlorine dioxide and serves as a disinfectant comprises the chlorous acid water, a metal oxide and a metal phosphate, with the metal preferably being potassium, has a pH of 3.5 or higher and lower than 7.0 and shows an unexpectedly long-term stabilizing effect.
