PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism that enables a proper image of a subjects eye to be taken by stabilizing visual fixation of the subjects eye.SOLUTION: A fixation target 810 for promoting fixation of a subjects eye is projected, and OCT measurement light is scanned for an eyeground surface 800 of the subjects eye. In this case, control for shifting a projection position 822 of relaxative light for diverting the subjects attention from the OCT measurement light to a position different from a position to be subjected to OCT measurement light irradiation is performed depending on a shift of a scanning position 821 of the OCT measurement light, associated with scanning of the OCT measurement light irradiation, and a projection position of the fixation target 810.
