To provide a gene encoding a peptide fusing with a target protein to shorten the life of a target protein and to provide a method for shortening the life of the protein using the gene.
SOLUTION: The life of luciferase fused with a life-shortening peptide was &le 1/3, in comparison with a case fused with PEST sequence. Provided are the protein for shortening the life of the protein the protein encoding the same and a method for shortening the life of the protein using the same. Thus and the life-shortened reporter protein can be used to precisely evaluate a relatively rapid gene response and the like.
