PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article equipped with a lateral leak preventive system, as well as body fluid absorbent articles like disposable paper diapers, etc. using the same.
SOLUTION: An absorbent article 1 includes an impermeable sheet 2 and a permeable top sheet 3, with an absorbent material 4 inserted between them. Both the lateral ends of the impermeable sheet 2 are folded back upward over the upper surface of the permeable top sheet 3 covering the absorbent material 4, and the base end 5b of rising gathers 5 working as the lateral leak prevention sheet with its free leading end 5a raised is inserted and fixed between the lower surface of the folded back lateral end 2a and the upper surface of the permeable top sheet 3. Also, the body fluid absorbent articles using the absorbent article 1 or arranging the same on the base material thereof are provided. Here, the body fluid absorbent articles mean a pants-type paper diaper, a flat paper diaper, an adult incontinent pad or a sanitary napkin.
