PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation method for simply evaluating the superiority/inferiority of generation of iron fisheyes of a cationic electrodeposition paint on an electrodeposition coating line on a small scale and by a small device.SOLUTION: An evaluation method of a cationic electrodeposition paint is characterized in that, on a test plate inclined in the range of 3 to 20 degrees with respect to a horizontal plane, with a weir having a height of 3 to 9 mm and a mixture obtained by preliminarily mixing with water an iron group containing an iron powder having a particle size distribution in the diameter range of 10 to 500 μm having been made present, a cationic electrodeposition paint is flown there in the flow rate range of 3 to 20 cm/sec, then electrodeposition coating is carried out for the same paint to obtain a standard film thickness, and the resultant film is washed with water and baked, followed by comparing among paints the number of remaining iron powder particles, and thereby ev
