The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition comprising a Bacillus polyfermenticus extract as an active ingredient. More particularly, the present invention relates to a cosmetic composition for whitening based on actions of inhibiting β-catenin expression and melanocyte differentiation of a Bacillus polyfermenticus extract. Since the Bacillus farifungentiquus extract, according to the present invention, has excellent melanin production inhibitory effects, the Bacillus farifungentiquus extract can be effectively used as a raw material for functional cosmetic products and quasi-drugs for improving skin-whitening effects.본 발명은 바실러스 폴리퍼멘티쿠스 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 화장료 조성물에 관한 것으로, 더욱 상세하게는 바실러스 폴리퍼멘티쿠스 추출물의 β-카테닌(catenin) 발현 억제 작용 및 멜라닌 세포 분화를 억제 작용에 기초한 미백용 화장료 조성물에 관한 것이다. 상기 본 발명에 의한 바실러스 포리퍼멘티쿠스 추출물은 우수한 멜라닌 생성 억제 효과를 가지므로 이를 피부 미백 개선을 위한 기능성 화장품 및 의약외품의 원료로 유용하게 이용할 수 있다.
