The invention relates to a moldboard (1) for plows in solid body or slat design, with a moldboard rear section (2) that includes a moldboard upper edge (4), a moldboard bottom edge (6) and a moldboard front edge (5), with the moldboard bottom edge (6) and moldboard front edge (5) transitioning in a recess (9) into which a substantially congruently formed moldboard front section (3) can be replaceably inserted and which, when installed, forms a continuation of the moldboard front edge (5) and the moldboard bottom edge (6) of the moldboard rear section (2). In order to have created a moldboard that can withstand increased stresses at, for example, increased plowing speeds, it is provided that the length of the maximum orthogonal distance between the apex (S) facing away from the moldboard front edge (5) of the moldboard front section (3) inserted in the recess (9) in relation to the connecting line (14) between the transition (10) of the recess (9) in the moldboard bottom edge (6) and the transition (11) of the recess (9) in the moldboard edge (5) is equal to 40% to 100% of the length of the connecting line (14).
