A liner panel for a transition cone of a farm combine is provided. The linerpanelis configured to absorb abrasive forces caused by crop cuttings moving acrossan innersurface of the transition cone. The liner panel includes an upper edge havinga length. Alower edge is positioned opposite the upper edge and has a length that issmaller than thelength of the upper edge. Opposing side edges are connected to the upper edgeand loweredge. The upper edge, lower edge and opposing edges cooperate such that theliner panelhas a tapered shape.
