PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide lightweight culture soil for greening a water-impermeable base, used for rooftop greening or the like, having fertilizer-holding ability in addition to water drainage and water retention, and satisfactorily facilitating maintenance; and to provide a structure of a greening culture medium. SOLUTION: The culture soil for greening a water-impermeable base comprises 25-40 wt.% of at least one kind selected from Masa soil (residual or calluvial soil originated from granite and bentonite) and pit sand, 15-40 wt.% of perlite, 25-45 wt.% of bark compost, and 10-25 wt.% of at least one kind selected from Bora soil and Kanuma soil; wherein the bark compost is obtained from acicular tree barks.
