PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which is excellent in diffusibility of urine or the like and hardly causes lateral leakage.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 1 has a liquid permeable top sheet 2, a liquid impermeable back sheet 3, and an absorbent laminate 4 provided therebetween. The absorbent laminate 4 has a longitudinal direction y and a width direction x, an upper absorbent layer 5 and a lower absorbent layer 7 from the top sheet 2 side. The upper absorbent layer 5 has an upper opening 6 extending in the longitudinal direction y. The lower absorbent layer 7 has a lower opening 8 overlapping with the upper opening 6 and extending in the longitudinal direction y. The lower opening 8 extends forward from a front end of the upper opening 6 and/or extends rearward from a rear end of the upper opening 6. The upper absorbent layer 5 is formed wider than the lower absorbent layer 7 over the entire longitudinal direction.
