The plant support consists of a vertical rod (1) with a series of parallel horizontal holes (2) drilled through it for plant ties (3), with or without knots. In a variant of the design the holes can be drilled alternately at right angles to one another. The lower third of the rod is left without holes so it remains strong for pushing into the ground. For production on an industrial basis the rods, laid side by side, can be drilled by a series of parallel drill bits with the appropriate spacing.
