A method for cutting a branch from a tree using a blade, the branch extending outwardly from a main tree portion, the method comprising: positioning the blade substantially adjacent to the branch and substantially perpendicular thereto and moving the blade transversely across the branch to cut the branch. Moving the blade transversely across the branch includes moving the blade along a curved path, the curved path being concave in a direction facing the main tree portion.
