PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a butterfly net having a net mouth closeable and openable with hand operation, preventing escape of insects by closing the net mouth, and enabling observation of the insects by closing the net mouth and putting of the insects into an insect cage without touching the insects with hand.SOLUTION: A net mouth closing and opening tool (1) having a closeable and openable net mouth loop is produced by inserting an elastic flat net mouth core (6) for net mouth through the net mouth closing and opening tool (1), thereby setting the core to the tool. A net bag (7) is set to the tool, and both the ends of the net mouth core (6) are connected with a connection rod (10) and an operation rod (11) in a rod (9) in a manner movable in response with the movement of the operation rod.
