Beschrieben wird ein Kontrastmittel für die Angiographie, insbesondere zur Untersuchung von tierischen oder menschlichen Leichen oder Bestandteilen wie Gliedmassen oder Organen davon, enthaltend eine im wesentlichen ölbasierte, apolare Kontrastkomponente für Röntgenuntersuchungen, wobei die Kontrastkomponente eine Kontrastkomponentenviskosität im Bereich von 30-100 mPas aufweist. Das Kontrastmittel ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Kontrastkomponente in einer Mischung vorliegt mit wenigstens einer weiteren apolaren Komponente, deren Viskosität geringer ist oder höchstens gleich gross wie die Kontrastkomponentenviskosität. Zudem werden Verfahren zur angiographischen Untersuchung beschrieben, bei welchen ein derartiges oder auch ein polares Kontrastmittel wenigstens in Zeitabschnitten eingesetzt wird, respektive Verwendungen von solchen Kontrastmitteln.X-ray contrast agent for angiography comprises an oil-based nonpolar contrast component (I) with a viscosity of 30-100 mPas and another nonpolar component (II) whose viscosity is no greater than that of (I).
