Disclosed is a device for causing the transdermal flux of a permeant into a subjectvia at least one formed pathway through a skin layer of the subject. The devicecomprises a delivery reservoir comprising: i) a non-biodegradable matrix havinga bottom surface and defining a plurality of conduits therein the matrix, at leasta portion of the plurality of conduits being in communication with the bottomsurface； and ii) an undissolved hydrophilic permeant disposed therein at leasta portion of the plurality of conduits of the matrix, wherein the hydrophilicpermeant can come in contact with subcutaneous fluid from the subject when thebottom surface of the matrix is positioned in fluid communication with the atleast one formed pathway. Also disclosed are systems and methods for causingthe transdermal flux of a permeant into a subject via at least one formed pathwaythrough a skin layer of the subject.
