The present invention relates to an automatic plant cultivation equipment and method thereof, which comprises at least one self-propelled device, a rotary conveying device for conveying the self-propelled device, a plurality of buffer units configured in layers on one side of the rotary conveying device, and a plurality of growing units configured on one side of the buffer units. While applying the present invention, it is first to cultivate the plants on the self-propelled device, and send the self-propelled device into the rotary conveying device. The self-propelled device will be rotated along with the rotary conveying device to a predetermined side of the buffer units, and then will be entered into the buffer units according to the setting, and moved toward the growing units and arranged for waiting the plant growth. After completion of plant growth, the self-propelled device will be moved toward the rotary conveying device from the buffer units.
