PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small electric vehicle which, even when the vehicle turns the curve of a road, is capable of accurately detecting an obstacle with an obstacle detection sensor and which is also capable of suppressing increase in cost.SOLUTION: An obstacle detection sensor 20 is installed in a rear view mirror 35 of a steering wheel part 8. Then, a luggage storage basket 19 is provided which is situated in the front lower part of the obstacle detection sensor 20. When an object inside the luggage storage basket 19 is detected by the obstacle detection sensor 20, an alarm or a warning display is generated by an alarm or a warning means provided for the driver.
