The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a composition rich in lutein produced by microalgae, more particularly microalgae of the chlorella family, more particularly produced by Chlorella vulgaris, characterized in that it comprises the sequence of following steps: 1) preparation of a cell lysate of the microalgae biomass, 2) treatment of the biomass of microalgae lysed by a polar solvent, preferably ethyl acetate to obtain an oleoresin containing lutein and the lipids of the initial biomass, 3) extraction of the oleoresin obtained in step 2) with a non-polar solvent, here a fluid at supercritical pressure, in order to obtain a fraction rich in nonpolar lipids, mainly consisting of triglycerides , and an insoluble fraction rich in lutein, 4) recovery of the fraction thus enriched in lutein.L'invention est relative à un procédé de préparation d'une composition riche en lutéine produite par des microalgues, plus particulièrement des microalgues de la famille des chlorelles, plus particulièrement encore produite par Chlorella vulgaris, caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend la suite des étapes suivantes : 1) préparation d'un lysat cellulaire de la biomasse de microalgues, 2) traitement de la biomasse de microalgues lysée par un solvant polaire, de préférence de l'acétate d'éthyle afin d'obtenir une oléorésine contenant la lutéine et les lipides de la biomasse initiale, 3) extraction de l'oléorésine obtenue à l'étape 2) par un solvant non polaire, ici un fluide à pression supercritique, afin d'obtenir une fraction riche en lipides non polaires, principalement constituée de triglycérides, et une fraction insoluble riche en lutéine, 4) récupération de la fraction ainsi enrichie en lutéine.
