PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition in the form of an O/W type emulsion containing inulin or modified inulin, the composition providing a user with fresh and refreshing feeling during application, non-sticky feeling after application, and homogeneous coating upon application, and being suitable for good cosmetic effects, such as an excellent UV shielding effect.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a composition in the form of an O/W type emulsion. The composition comprises (a) at least one UV screening agent, (b) at least one inulin or inulin modified with a hydrophobic chain, (c) at least one sugar ether surfactant, (d) at least one hydrophilic acrylic polymer, and (e) water.
