The present invention relates to an electrically-ignited pyrotechnic squib including an elongate casing (2), extending about an axis (3), for holding a predetermined amount of powder, and an ignition head (4) for igniting the powder, the casing being provided with a closed end (6) on one side thereof and, at the other end thereof, a plug (7) for connecting to a power supply cable (8) of the ignition head. The casing comprises a continuous longitudinal U-shaped outer groove (9), which extends around the casing, the ends (10) of the arms of the U being located on the side at which the plug (7) for connecting to the cable is located, and the bottom (11) of the U being located on the closed-end side.
