PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cannula capable of suppressing leakage of vitreous humor, etc. from a slit into which a surgical instrument is inserted in a more satisfactory manner.SOLUTION: A cannula 10 used by being inserted into an eyeball in an ophthalmic operation includes a pipe 11, a cylindrical base 12 engaged with the outer periphery of the pipe 11 at a base end of the pipe 11, a resin cap 13 consisting of a lid face 13c for covering the base end face of the pipe 11 and a side face 13a for covering the cylindrical side face of the base 12, and a slit 13d that penetrates the center of the lid face 13c.
