To provide a relatively inexpensive process cheese-like food having excellent usability in restrictive use as a topping material for bread and baked cakes and a filling material and proper baking resistance and a natural cheese-like aged cheese flavor.

SOLUTION: The process cheese-like food is obtained by lactic acid fermenting an emulsion comprising natural cheese, soybean protein and a lactic bacteria assimilable saccharide and a salt as essential components and mixing the emulsified product before the lactic acid fermentation and/or a fermented liquid after the lactic acid fermentation with a specific amount of oil-and-fat having a melting point of 20-40° C and/or sodium casein and has proper hardness useful after squeezing and proper shape retention after baking and an aged cheese flavor of natural cheese approximation.
