The present invention discloses a reinforced biocomposite comprising hydroxyapatite sintered with cerium-oxide and silver nanoparticles. The biocomposite is an advanced bone-tissue implant having potential to reduce oxidative stress and thereby scavenging reactive oxygen species (free-radicals) in the region of bone injury post-implantation. The biocomposite of invention also promotes healing due to its proven efficacy for antibacterial and antioxidant activity along with cytocompatibilty.
