The invention relates to a modular device for dorsal protection suitable to be worn by a wearer, said device comprising at least two holding elements (2, 3) arranged one beneath the other and suitable for receiving, on the front face thereof, the back of the wearer, said holding elements (2, 3) being interconnected, in pairs, on the rear face thereof, by at least one hinged connection, each hinged connection ensuring the link between two adjacent holding elements (2, 3). According to the invention, each hinged connection comprises at least two degrees of torsional freedom and bending freedom such that each holding element (2, 3) and each hinged element moves in relation to the other under the action of the movements of the wearer, while ensuring that the device is maintained in contact with the back of the wearer.L'invention concerne un dispositif modulaire de protection dorsale adapté à être porté par un porteur, le dispositif comprenant au moins deux éléments de maintien (2, 3) situés les uns sous les autres et adaptés à recevoir, par leur face avant, le dos du porteur, les éléments de maintien (2, 3) étant reliés entre eux, deux à deux, par leur face arrière, par au moins une liaison articulée, chaque liaison articulée assurant le lien entre deux éléments de maintien (2, 3) adjacents. Selon l'invention, chaque liaison articulée comprend au moins deux degrés de liberté en torsion et en flexion de sorte que chaque élément de maintien (2, 3) et chaque liaison articulée se déplacent les uns par rapport aux autres sous l'action des mouvements du porteur tout en assurant le maintien du dispositif au contact du dos de ce dernier.
