PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound which is a dye of a rose provided with an ability to produce delphinidin by a plant, especially gene recombination, and a method for modifying a flower color of a plant such as a rose using a plant containing the dye, a portion of the same, and the compound.SOLUTION: To provide a new blue dye of rosacyanins having a large molecular weight, which is produced by causing a blue color gene (flavonoid 3,5-hydroxylase), does not exist in conventional rose variety plants, has an enhanced solubility improving effect due to presence of three hydroxy groups in a B ring, and is effective in exhibiting a blue color by being transported to vacuoles of petal cells.
