The invention relates to the chemical and pharmaceutical industry and pertains to ganglioside GM1 preparations in injection form. The method consists in preparing a porcine brain extract using a mixture of trichloromethane and methyl alcohol, conducting absorption on a macroreticular ion exchange resin and desorption of the liquid extract, dividing the ganglioside mixture and separating-off the Monosialotetrahexosyl gangliosides of the raw product, with the subsequent cleaning, drying and packaging of said product. The method provides for a high-purity substance which may be used for producing injection preparations.
