PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device for an endoscope and an endoscope system using the device for acquiring a sufficient light volume to enable endoscopic diagnosis while keeping a surface layer blood vessel image having high-level contrast.SOLUTION: A blue semiconductor light source 35 includes a blue LED 43 and emits blue light LB having a peak wavelength of 455 nm. A long cut filter (LCF) 48 is provided on the front surface of the blue semiconductor light source 35. The LCF 48 cuts a long wavelength component whose peak wavelength is equal to or longer than 455 nm in the blue light LB having the peak wavelength of 455 nm emitted by the blue semiconductor light source 35, to generate long cut blue light LBlc. The long cut blue light LBlc is light: in which most of light components of a wavelength band of equal to or more than 450 nm prohibiting a contrast in a surface layer blood vessel image from improving is cut from the blue light LB and a light component of the peak wave length 455 nm of the blue light LB is included and whose light volume is relatively large to the extent of enabling endoscopic diagnosis.COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT【課題】表層血管のコントラストを高いレベルで維持しつつ、内視鏡診断に応え得る十分な光量を得る内視鏡用光源装置、およびこれを用いた内視鏡システムを提供する。【解決手段】青色半導体光源35は、青色LED43を有し、ピーク波長455nmの青色光LBを発光する。青色半導体光源35の前面には、ロングカットフィルタ(LCF)48が設けられている。LCF48は、青色半導体光源35が発するピーク波長455nmの青色光LBのうち、ピーク波長455nm以上の長波長成分をカットして、ロングカット青色光LBlcを生成する。ロングカット青色光LBlcは、青色光LBのうち、表層血管のコントラスト向上の邪魔になる450nm以上の波長帯域の光成分の大部分がカットされ、かつ青色光LBのピーク波長455nmの光成分が含まれた、内視鏡診断に応え得る程度の比較的大きい光量の光である。【選択図】図3
