An absorbent article includes: a fluid-permeable surface sheet a fluid-impermeable back face sheet and a liquid-absorbent core that is between the surface sheet and the back face sheet and that includes hydrophilic fiber and superabsorbent resin, the liquid-absorbent core having a plurality of through holes formed thereon and high-density regions, the high-density regions being each provided at a position adjacent to each of the through holes, a density of the superabsorbent resin in each of the high-density regions being higher than in another region.
