The present invention relates to topical antibacterial compositions. Thecompositionscomprise an antibacterial agent such as mupirocin, water, a polymer and avolatile solventpresent in an amount of less than about 40%. The invention also relates tomethods oftreatment by administering the compositions to a patient in need thereof, andto the use of suchcompositions in the treatment of bacterial conditions.
