To provide an ophthalmologic apparatus capable of preferably coping with fixation failure, and a control method therefor.SOLUTION: An ophthalmologic apparatus in an embodiment optically acquires data of an eyeground of an eye to be examined. The ophthalmologic apparatus comprises a fixation system, an image acquisition part, a specification part and a determination part. The fixation system radiates a fixation light to an eye of a subject. The image acquisition part acquires an image of an eyeground of the eye to be examined in a state of radiating the fixation light by the fixation system. The specification part analysis an image acquired by the image acquisition part for specifying an image region corresponding to a prescribed portion on the eyeground.
