PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a perfume composition containing optically active (1S)-8-mercaptomenthone, as an effective component, that is a mixture comprised of (4S)- and (4R)-isomers in a mass ratio ranging from 65:35 to 95:5, and to provide such products as foods, drinks, compositions for oral use, perfumes, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, etc. that are perfumed by the perfume composition.SOLUTION: The perfume composition contains optically active (1S)-8-mercaptomenthone, as an effective component, that is a mixture comprised of (4S)- and (4R)-isomers in a mass ratio ranging from 65:35 to 95:5. The perfume composition can be used for foods, drinks, compositions for oral use, perfumes, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. The perfumed products are perfumed by the perfume composition.
