The invention relates to the prevention and / or treatment of stroke. The invention is characterized in that a thymulin analog peptide (PAT) corresponding to the following sequence: SEQ ID No. 1: Glu-Ala-Lys-Ser-Gln-Gly-Gly-Ser-Asp (EAKSQGGSD) , or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, is used in the prevention and / or treatment of stroke. Finally, the invention relates to a composition comprising such a peptide used according to the invention, dissolved in an appropriate solvent, optionally accompanied by a preservative, a buffering agent, an isotonicity adjuvant, a surfactant taken alone or as a mixture.
