The invention relates to the prevention and/or treatment of strokes. The invention is characterised in that a peptide analogue of thymulin (PAT) corresponding to the following sequence: SEQ ID n°1: Glu-Ala-Lys-Ser-Gln-Gly-Gly-Ser-Asp (EAKSQGGSD), or one of the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, is used in the prevention and/or treatment of strokes. The invention also relates to a composition comprising such a peptide which is used according to the invention and dissolved in an appropriate solvent, optionally accompanied by a preservative, buffering agent, isotonicity adjuvant or surfactant, alone or in combination.L'invention concerne la prévention et/ou le traitement des accidents vasculaires cérébraux.
