PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide lactobacillus suppressing the increase of uric acid levels in blood and suitable for food/drink and pharmaceutical applications.SOLUTION: Various kinds of lactobacillus are cultured in the presence of a purine body, and the consumption level of the purine body and the production level of the purine body decomposed product are measured, thereby selecting lactobacillus remarkable in an ability to decompose the purine body. These lactobacilli selected are orally administered to rats raised with purine body-containing feed, and the rats' general conditions and serum uric acid levels are measured. Based on the results, the influence on the serum uric acid levels by the lactobacillus administration is examined. As a result, Lactobacillus gasseri OLL2959 and Lactobacillus oris OLL2779, two kinds of lactobacillus that significantly suppress the serum uric acid levels, are found.【課題】飲食品や医薬品用途に適し、血中尿酸値の上昇を抑制可能な乳酸菌を提供する。【解決手段】プリン体存在下で各種乳酸菌を培養し、該プリン体の消費量および該プリン体分解物の生産量を測定し、プリン体分解能の顕著な複数の乳酸菌を選抜した。上記選抜によってプリン体分解能が高いと判断された乳酸菌を、プリン体含有飼料で飼育したラットに経口投与し、当該マウスの一般状態および血清尿酸値を測定し、乳酸菌投与による血清尿酸値への影響を検討した。その結果、血清尿酸値の上昇を有意に抑える乳酸菌：Lactobacillus gasseri OLL2959および Lactobacillus oris OLL2779を見出した。【選択図】 なし
