An apparatus (1) for sterilizing container closures comprises a conduit (2) defining a passage for the closure and having a wall (3) surrounding the passage, spraying means (4) for injecting inside the conduit (2) a sterilization fluid heated and vaporized, drying means for introducing hot air in the conduit (2) and means for heating the wall (3) of the conduit (2) operatively coupled thereto. A method for sterilizing container closures transported inside a conduit (2) having a wall (3) defining internally a passage for the closures comprises the steps of injecting inside the conduit (2) a sterilization fluid heated and vaporized, introducing hot air in the conduit (2) for drying the closures and heating the wall (3) of the conduit (2) by transferring heat directly to the conduit wall (3).Linvention concerne un appareil (1) destiné à stériliser des fermetures pour récipients et comportant un conduit (2) définissant un passage pour la fermeture et doté d’une paroi (3) entourant le passage, des moyens (4) de pulvérisation servant à injecter à l’intérieur du conduit (2) un fluide de stérilisation chauffé et vaporisé, des moyens de séchage servant à introduire de l’air chaud dans le conduit (2) et des moyens servant à chauffer la paroi (3) du conduit (2) couplés fonctionnellement à ceux-ci. un procédé de stérilisation de fermetures pour récipients transportées à l’intérieur d’un conduit (2) doté d’une paroi (3) définissant intérieurement un passage pour les fermetures comporte les étapes consistant à injecter à l’intérieur du conduit (2) un fluide de stérilisation chauffé et vaporisé, à introduire de l’air chaud dans le conduit (2) afin de sécher les fermetures et à chauffer la paroi (3) du conduit (2) en transférant de la chaleur directement à la paroi (3) du conduit.
