PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injection device for infusing a fluid into a patient.SOLUTION: Filling of a syringe can be performed at a faster rate using a filling sequence which expels air from a filling tube before filling the syringe. A similar method is used when exchanging a contrast container during a filling sequence to ensure that all the air is expelled from the filling tube before filling of the new contrast container resumes.
