Provided is an artery visualization device 1 for irradiating the skin with near-infrared light from the back side of the wrist, and forming a near-infrared image of the wrist, the device being equipped with: resting stage 20 on which the wrist is rested an irradiation unit 3 including a light source 2 for emitting near-infrared light an imaging unit 10 for receiving light which has entered from the skin on the back side of the wrist and exited from the skin on the front side, and forming a near-infrared image of the wrist an optical filter 12 and a monitor 14. The artery visualization device 1 has a convex part 4 protruding from a wrist resting surface 21a of the resting stage 20, the convex part 4 being adapted to apply pressure from the back side of the wrist to the skin on the back side of the wrist when placed on the resting stage 20, and the near-infrared light emitted by the light source 2 exits the skin on the back side. The resting stage 20 has a center resting part 21 and a hand dorsal surface-contacting part 23, the hand dorsal surface-contacting part 23 being inclined with respect to the wrist resting surface 21a, and the end 23q of the hand dorsal surface-contacting part at the opposite side from the end 23p at the center resting part side of the hand dorsal surface-contacting part being to the lower side thereof.
