The invention relates to method and device for evaluating a medical imaging device (18), the method comprising receiving a test image (ti1, ti2 ... tiN) generated by a test medical imaging device (18). Thereafter, the one or more features associated with the test image are extracted. Subsequently, the features of the test image (ti1, ti2 ... tiN) are compared with one or more features of standard images (si1, si2 ... siN). A distance measure is generated automatically based on a similarity of the test image with the standard image. Based on the distance measure, a result is displayed which indicates a working condition of the test medical imaging device.
