PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating device and a treating method excellent in the removal performance of ethylene oxide gas contained in a waste gas.SOLUTION: A treating device of a waste gas to remove ethylene oxide gas contained in the waste gas after sterilization treatment is provided with an adsorption cylinder to remove ethylene oxide from the waste gas where activated carbon whose raw material is petroleum or coal is filled and ethylene oxide is removed from the waste gas by adsorbing and decomposing the ethylene oxide gas due to the contact of the waste gas with the activated carbon.
