The shoe base (11) according to the invention comprises an outsole (13), which is made of a closed-pore foam (18), and an insole (14) lying opposite the outsole (13). The kit according to the invention comprises the shoe base (11) according to the invention and a fastening shaft (12) which is individually adaptable to the animal foot (2) and which has a fastening portion (15) for fixing to the animal foot (2) and an attachment region (16) for connecting to the shoe base (11).
