The invention relates to a device for storing, mixing, and applyingpolymethylmethacrylate bonecement, comprising a first container (1) for a first pasty component of thebone cement, adispensing plunger (4) arranged in the first container (1) such that it can beshifted and servesfor pressing the content of the first container (1) out of a dispensingopening, a mixing facility(22) for mixing the content of the first container (1), whereby the mixingfacility (22) is arrangedin the first container (1) and the mixing facility (22) can be moved in thefirst container (1) fromoutside for mixing, and at least one second container (18) for at least onesecond component ofthe bone cement is arranged in or on said first container (1), whereby thesecond container (18)can be opened, such that the contents of the first container (1) and secondcontainer (18) canbe mixed with each other in the first container (1), whereby at least aboundary surface of thefirst container (1) is formed by a mobile volume compensation element (4, 6).The invention also relates to a method for producing a polymethylmethacrylatebone cementusing a device of this type, characterised by the steps of:A) Providing the device, whereby the first container (1) is filled with afirst pasty component ofthe PMMA bone cement and the second container (18) is filled with a second,preferably liquid,component of the PMMA bone cementB) Opening the second containerC) Mixing of the two components through moving the mixing facility (22),whereby moving themixing facility (22) is associated with a rod or tube, which is connected tothe mixing facility,being pushed into and pulled out of the first container (1) repeatedly,whereby the volumechange of the content of the first container (1) due to the pushing in andpulling out iscompensated for through a motion of the at least one volume compensationelement (6) andD) Applying the mixed bone cement through propelling the dispensing plunger(4) forward in thefirst container (1).
