PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing metal ion water containing essential minerals or metal ion water having an antimicrobial function, which is useful and effective even when diluted with a large ratio of 50 times, 100 times, and 200 times, the metal ion water containing at least partly a metal complex anion and providing a function such as being able to be absorbed rapidly by a human body or to prolong a life of food products.SOLUTION: To provide a method for producing metal ion water containing at least partly a metal complex anion of a vapor deposited metal, comprising: using a dilute citric acid solution as a solvent cutting a plastic film having essential minerals vacuum vapor deposited into small pieces or cutting a plastic film having silver, copper, zinc, or an alloy of these vacuum vapor deposited into small pieces and stirring them in the solvent.
