The method includes applying at least one pulse, each including a pulse shape, wherein at least one pulse shape includes: a predetermined pulse shape portion and at least one from a group consisting of: an increased energy portion including an increase in energy proportional to an increase in sensed aspiration vacuum pressure a decreased energy portion including a decrease in energy proportional to a decrease in sensed aspiration vacuum pressure, and, an altered shape portion having a pulse shape amplitude, wherein the pulse shape amplitude is proportional to sensed aspiration vacuum pressure wherein the at least one increased energy portion, decreased energy portion or pulse shape amplitude is computed based on actual sensed aspiration vacuum pressure multiplied by maximum pulse amplitude minus minimum pulse amplitude and divided by maximum sensed aspiration pressure, added to minimum pulse amplitude.
