The present invention provides a medical balloon having enlarged radii, which may be disposed on a dilation catheter. The enlarged radii balloon may reduce the trauma experienced by a patient both during the procedure and when the catheter is removed from the patient. The enlarged radii may provide the deflated balloon with smoother transitions and less mechanical rigidity at the balloon transitions.La présente invention se rapporte à un ballonnet médical présentant des rayons augmentés, qui peut être disposé sur un cathéter de dilatation. Ce ballonnet à rayons augmentés peut réduire le traumatisme subi par un patient à la fois lors dune procédure dintervention médicale et lorsque le cathéter est retiré du patient. Les rayons augmentés peuvent conférer au ballonnet dégonflé des transitions plus douces et une rigidité mécanique moindre au niveau des transitions du ballonnet.
