A ureteral drainage stent is designed to be placed in a patients ureter and extend into a patients bladder. An ureteral drainage stent includes a distal region for placement in the ureter and renal cavity, and a proximal region for placement in a urinary bladder and urethra. The distal region includes an elongated member with multiple lumens and the proximal region includes multiple elongated member, each defining a lumen. At least one lumen in the distal region is in liquid communication with a lumen from the proximal region. At least two of the elongated members in the proximal region are joined at their proximal ends and form a retraction structure, a structure used for removing the stent from a patient.
