PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus of producing tampons which comprise a tampon body, a cylindrical housing in which the tampon body is stored, and a pushing member movable within the cylindrical housing and thus pushing out the tampon body from the cylindrical housing, and in which a plurality of petal-shaped parts are located at one tip of the cylindrical housing in the longitudinal direction, and to provide a method of producing the tampons to supply the cylindrical housing suitably.
SOLUTION: As for the apparatus of producing tampons comprising the tampon body, the cylindrical housing 40, the pushing member, and the plurality of petal-shaped parts located at the tip of the cylindrical housing in the longitudinal direction, the apparatus has a supply unit and a pushing member-inserting unit for inserting the pushing member the supply unit has a first transporting path 220 and a second transporting path 230 and the second transporting path has a receiving part 231 for receiving the cylindrical housing moved on the first transporting path, a sidewall 232 formed at an end opposite to a side where the cylindrical housing is received to the receiving part from the first transporting path 220, and an outlet 233a for taking the cylindrical housing out of the second transporting path and the cylindrical housing previously received stays at the sidewall when the cylindrical housing is not present at the receiving part, and the received cylindrical housing is taken out of the second transporting path from the outlet when the cylindrical housing is present there.
